Bengalis In Chicago - Our History

Bengalis In Chicago is founded keeping only one thing in mind - To promote rich and diverse Bengali culture and heritage, conduct Bengali events, to serve as a socializing ground of hundreds of students, professionals and their families who misses their home every now and then. The organization is founded on 2006 and from then on, it organizes different Bengali events and ceremonies which thousands come and attend and love and enjoy. Thank you everyone for your warm support. Without you, BIC would not have come along such a long journey. BIC is a strictly non-profit, non-political, secular organization and strives hard to promote cultural and literary activities of immigrant Bengalis residing in greater Chicago area.

Poschim Bongo, West Bengal, Bangla whichever name may be your pick; we all call it Home.

In the words of Kobi Jibonanda,

I beheld thy semblance, O Bengal, thus I search not beauty anywhere else....

However, since we are all literally on the other side of the world

and half a world away from our Cha, Chanachur and Adda

We strive to make it a home away from home.

Kind of like following Kobiguru Robi Thakur's words

"On the seashore of endless worlds children meet."
